These workshops are for carers 50+ in Bristol. If you love food and passionate about cooking or never cooked but fancy giving it a go, this is the workshop for you. You will learn to cook/prepare delicious dishes. The Chefs from different cultural backgrounds will demonstrate how to cook a tasty dish from around the world and then you’ll have the chance to do it yourself.

This is a great opportunity to learn something new, share food stories and further your knowledge about nutrition.

Parent carers asked us to provide a course specifically for them; and we have been able to develop this course with their needs in mind. This new course will help parent carers build a better understanding of what services are out there. This course is for carers looking after someone with a life-limiting illness, near the end of life or changes in their caring role, e.g. the person cared for is moving into a care home. It gives carers a safe place to discuss complex issues and feelings, to share knowledge and learn strategies to manage their own health needs.

Are you caring for someone with dementia? Concerned that their eating habits are changing? Struggling with food preparation and meal planning? This 3 session course can help. We will be looking at why those with dementia often struggle with eating, drinking and food preparation, and how you can help, encourage and support.

This course runs on Mondays between 1pm and 3pm in South Gloucestershire on the 11th, 18th and 25th of February and 4th and 11th of March. The course is for anyone caring for someone with dementia and aims to give a better understanding of dementia and its effects. Carers can gain confidence in making decisions about their caring role and managing their own health and wellbeing.
