The Whirlwind Trust has small grants available to organisations that support young, disadvantaged or disabled people (aged up to 25) through maritime and outdoor activities. Funding is designed to help these organisations provide life-changing experiences for young people, helping them build confidence and learn new skills, whatever their financial circumstances or physical abilities. 

Grants of up to £20,000 are available for Black-led grassroots organisations and projects that remove barriers faced by Black women and girls, and help them progress. 

The money comes from the CROWN UK Fund, created by Dove, and £170,000 will be invested overall.

The government has launched a Health and Wellbeing Fund to support VCSE organisations working with mothers and babies from Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities or deprived neighbourhoods. 

Money will go towards community projects that improve perinatal mental health, learning and speech and language development or immunisation rates, or projects that prevent low birth weight, obesity and/or smoking. The aim of the funding is to improve health outcomes and reduce health inequalities. 

Feeding Bristol has launched its Healthy Holidays fundraising appeal to help more than 14,250 disadvantaged children over the school holidays.

Money raised will go towards providing food and activities in areas of high deprivation. The programme includes a range of activity packs, cooking classes, and cookery films to guide families in making nutritious recipes.
