Bristol Youth Links Project Board

The Role of Reps

Voscur reps are there to ensure that the views of the sector are heard and represented at strategic meetings. Full members of Voscur are eligible to become reps and they are elected for two years. Reps represent the views of, and are accountable to, Voscur children and young peoples network members. Each Rep works to a reps agreement and is expected to promote Voscurs core values. Their responsibilities include: attending the strategic meetings, making their contact details available, attending network meetings and providing reports/feedback from the groups they attend. All of our reps are volunteers and are undertaking this responsibility in addition to their organisational roles. To ensure that representation is a two way process network members are requested to take responsibility for contacting the reps that attend groups of significance to the work of your organisation. If you have concerns/feedback/questions then please share them with your reps.

The full list of the names and contact details can be viewed by clicking here - July 2011

Please take some time to feed your views about representation to Voscur, thank you.

Joint Reps

Some reps were elected jointly from the Voscur, Care Forum and BDA networks. These reps will contine in their role until the new support service and VCS assembly is set up for which Voscur is the lead provider. The contact details are supplied for each rep so that you are able to get your views heard and to find out what is going on.  More information is available at http://www.voscur.org/newVCSsupportservice.

VCS representatives have provided a crucial voice for the sector and included a wide perspective at strategic levels. During the transition phase, the current VCS reps will continue to attend meetings to fulfil this role. Until the launch of the new VCS Assembly rep. vacancies will be temporarily filled where possible until the Assembly details are finalised and the way forward for selecting VCS reps is agreed.
